1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Narrative Chronicle, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Narrative Chronicle is a manuscript continuity analysis tool provided by Narrative Forge. The service analyzes submitted text to extract and track narrative state — character locations, object possession, story threads, and continuity issues. The service does not generate, store, or modify your manuscript text.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Narrative Chronicle. By using the service you confirm you meet this requirement.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at chronicle@thenarrativeforge.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to submit
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service
- Use the service to train, fine-tune, or develop competing AI systems
- Attempt to circumvent word credit limits, payment systems, or access controls
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
6. Word Credits and Payments
Word credits are purchased in advance and consumed when chapters are scanned. Credits are non-transferable and tied to your account. All purchases are processed through Dodo Payments. Prices are displayed in USD and are subject to change with notice.
Each scan consumes word credits equal to the words submitted, with a minimum of 1,000 credits per scan. Rescanning a chapter consumes the same credits as the original scan.
7. Refund Policy
We offer refunds within 7 days of purchase provided no word credits have been used from that purchase. Once credits have been consumed, no refund is available for consumed credits. To request a refund contact chronicle@thenarrativeforge.com with your order details.
8. Data Retention
Narrative state data is retained based on your plan tier as described in our Privacy Policy. Free accounts are deleted on day 7. Paid plan data is retained for 30, 90, or 180 days after plan expiry depending on the tier active at expiry. You may delete your data at any time by deleting books within your account or by requesting full account deletion.
9. Intellectual Property
Your manuscript content remains entirely your own. You retain all rights to your creative work. Narrative Chronicle claims no ownership over any content you submit. Narrative Chronicle's software, interface, branding, and analysis methodology are the property of Narrative Forge and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.
10. AI-Generated Analysis
Analysis provided by Narrative Chronicle is generated by an AI system and is assistive in nature. It may not catch every inconsistency or error. Narrative Chronicle makes no guarantee of completeness or accuracy. You are responsible for applying your own editorial judgment to all analysis results.
11. Service Availability
Narrative Chronicle is provided on an as-is basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Narrative Forge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 30 days preceding the claim.
13. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or attempt to circumvent service restrictions. Where credits remain unused at termination for cause, no refund will be issued.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or notice on the website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in the jurisdiction where The Narrative Forge operates.
