Manuscript Text
Your manuscript text is never stored. When you submit a chapter for analysis, it is processed once by our AI system and immediately discarded. Only the extracted narrative state (character locations, object possession, story threads, etc.) is saved to your account. This ensures your creative work remains private and secure.
Data We Collect
- Account information (name, email) from Clerk authentication
- Narrative state data extracted from your manuscripts
- Payment information processed through Dodo Payments
- Usage data for service improvement and billing
Data Security
All data is encrypted at rest and in transit through our service providers:
- Supabase provides AES-256 encryption for data at rest
- Railway & Supabase provide TLS encryption for data in transit
- Row-level security policies in our database ensure users can only access their own data
- Service role key is never exposed to client-side code
Data Sharing
We never share your manuscript data with third parties. Your narrative state is used solely to provide the Narrative Chronicle service. We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
Data Retention
Narrative state data is retained based on your plan tier. Free accounts are deleted on day 7 after expiry. Paid plan data is retained for 30, 90, or 180 days after plan expiry depending on the tier active at expiry. You can delete data by deleting books or an account deletion erases all data.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data at any time through your account
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Clerk - Authentication and user management
- Supabase - Database hosting
- Dodo Payments - Payment processing
- Anthropic - AI analysis (text is not stored)
- Upstash - Caching and rate limiting
Each service has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
Children's Privacy
Narrative Chronicle is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
